After a gritty win in Tuscon the Huskies are now close to an epic choke at home vs. UCLA. Tumbling out of the driver's seat. Typical disfunctional star-studded Romar team.

They often do finish strong, in games as well as the season.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostNot so fast. Nice comeback, Washington with a big win in the P12 race. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Cal and Arizona will get in. Colorado, Oregon and Washington all still with a chance to play their way in and Oregon or Colorado are going to play to eliminate one of those two.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostArizona will get in because they are Arizona.
Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Arizona. One of those teams is going to fade down the stretch and end up with not that good of record. The other four will get in.
Oregon has to split in the Bay next weekend then win out @Beavs, home Colorado and Utah.
Colorado in a similar position needs to beat Utah, split in the Bay and probably sweep in Oregon.
Washington can't lose again. They have Oregon State today in Corvallis, then the Arizona schools in Seattle and on the road to the LA schools. They are probably ahead of Oregon and Colorado now. Their schedule doesn't do any favors though, as any losses they have the rest of the way are really bad for their bubble.Get confident, stupid

I was wrong above Colorado gets Cal in Boulder, while it would be a nice win, I'm not sure it is the resume booster that it would have been in Berkeley.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostCal and Arizona will get in. Washington is a pretty stable in, but really has no margin for error to lose as any loss they have at this point is bad loss.
Oregon really could have used the win at Cal, but damn if Monty doesn't own the Ducks. 21-0 at home all time against Oregon. Up 5 with 2 to play, couldn't close. Oregon is in good shape, but must win out and win at least 1 in the P12 tourney.
The March 1st game between Oregon and Colorado will eliminate any possibility of an at large for either team.Get confident, stupid

ESPN has 3 teams in right now, with Oregon in first four out, CBS has 2 teams in. So far I'm saying that two teams are in (Cal and Arizona), Washington is in without screwing up, and Oregon or Colorado can play their way in.Originally posted by Surfah View PostYou're a lot more confident than anyone else about these Pac 12 teams getting in.
I'm willing to put coin that at least 3 P12 teams get in.Get confident, stupid

Other than that the PAC has zero locks. I think they get 2 teams in but I doubt they get 3.
Washington has an RPI of 52.
Oregon 56.
Arizona 68.
Washington does not have a single quality out of conference win and only 3 RPI top 100 wins. (Arizona twice and Oregon). They have zero top 50 wins.
Oregon has zero quality out of conference wins and only 2 RPI top 100 wins (Arizona and Washington) and a bad loss (Oregon State at home). They also have zero top 50 wins.
Arizona has top 100 wins granted they are over Valpo, Duquesne and New Mexico State. In conference they have a win at Cal and against Colorado. But they also lost to a bad UCLA team. Cal is the only top 50 win they have.
Nobody besides Cal deserves an auto bid in the Pac-12 right now. Maybe they can get there but I doubt it.
Just for comparisons sake lets look at BYU who most have as a bubble team:
RPI of 46
Quality OOC wins: Nevada, @Virginia Tech, Oregon, Weber State, Buffalo.
Bad losses: 1st game of the season @Utah St.
Quality conference wins: @Loyola Marymount, Gonzaga
Gonzaga is a top 25 win.
If the Pac-12 gets 3, then the WCC gets 3.Last edited by cougjunkie; 02-22-2012, 11:36 AM.*Banned*

Like I said above, I'm willing to put my up or shut up that the P12 gets 3 teams in, with Oregon and maybe Colorado still being able to play their way in, both can also eliminate themselves with a loss. (Obviously speaking as an at-large not P12 tourney winner)Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostCal is in no matter what.

I do get the feeling that Oregon might end up looking at their NIT bracket in 3 weeks, simply because they couldn't hold a lead against the Beavs at home, that was the definition of a bad loss.
I'm not sure where you are seeing BYU as a bubble team, both CBS and ESPN have them in. Neither site lists them among the last four in. BYU is in barring a self-immolation against Portland in the MC or in a WCC game not against Gonzaga or St. Mary's.Get confident, stupid

Maybe the Pac does get 3 in but they don't deserve it.*Banned*
