I've noticed that the Internet boards have become an instrument for the coaches to try to manage the politics swirling around their jobs. For example, last year, after those five kids left Utah's program there were many strategically placed board mails and posts leaking that those kids were (in at least one case) alcoholics (reference was even made to one particlar kid's Native American ancestry) or just bad kids with irremediably bad attitudes. Of course, these rumors seemed to ignore the real place where responsiblity should lie for a program being so rampantly populated with bad, uncoachable kids. (Don't get me started on Bronco's similar PR tactics.)

Here's the latest on behalf of Boylen: No one wants the Utah job, Chris Hill has no list, no plan going forward. Utah will just be jumping from the fry pan into the fire. Yes, pathetic as a PR plan for Boylen, but a last resort it seems.

At least I hope this is Boylen PR. Is there something the matter with Chris Hill and his ability ability to make a good basketball hire? I'm starting to wonder.

Odd. I just read a rumor out of Vegas that Dr. Hill plans to offer Dave Rose 3 times what he is currently making to move over to Utah.

I don't want him unless he can be a package deal with Jimmer. Even then, it would be contingent on developments the rest of the season. I'm not sold on either one of them.

I'm holding out to see what he does in the post season. I think he will do well, but that is a big measuring stick that has yet to be applied to this season.

Not sure if this was a serious post or not. Maybe you have not seen much of Jimmer in the postseason.

Freshman year he averages: 12 points per game in 17 minutes. While shooting over 60% from the floor. (season average was only 7)

Sophomore year he averages 18.6 per game

Junior year he averages 33.25 per game including 45 against TCU in the MWC tournament and 37 against Florida in the NCAA tournament.

I'm not taking anything away that he has accomplished. I'm just suggesting that winning in the NCAA tournament is one measure of great college players and is the last part of his resume that needs to be filled out. I'm not setting up any sort of a "swish" with what I'm about to say, but with the seed you guys are going to get, less than a sweet 16 appearance will be a disappointment for the team and for Jimmer personally. This is what separates The Jimmer from all the great BYU athletes of the past. He hasn't just put up empty stats against inferior competition.
