  • To the people alleging that Utah has unrealistic expectations in our coaching search, no this is what unrealistic expectations look like.

NC State will go after heavy hitters such as Texas' Rick Barnes (a North Carolina native), Pitt's Jamie Dixon, UCLA's Ben Howland, Texas A&M's Mark Turgeon, Notre Dame's Mike Brey and Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings. Arizona's Sean Miller is unlikely to move now that he has the Wildcats atop the Pac-10. Remember, the Wolfpack did this last time they had a coaching vacancy and couldn't land then-Memphis coach John Calipari or ESPN analyst Steve Lavin, and turned to an alumnus in Sidney Lowe.

They do realize that Herb Sendek left them for Arizona St. right?

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

        Obviously they don't realize that.

        • Ronald Regan International Airport is right there in DC. Taylor needs to get there so he can catch his flight to SLC.

They might be able to get him back.

Yikes! That does make the Ute coaching search look tame by comparison.

But hey, can you really blame the Wolfpack? Dont give up. Don't ever give up!

If Stew ditched his scheduling philosophy he would cease to be Stew Morrill. Morrill and his scheduling philosophy are inseparable. He wouldn't take the job and we won't offer. He is looking for a Big Sky job not a Pac-12 job.

I actually would take stew if he would think big time instead of small potatoes. He obviously has a good basketball mind and understands how to put players in a position to succeed.

I don't know if he could recruit at a level to succeed in a bigger conference as well.

In a way, coaching at Utah would be both.

                        • ESPN rumor this morning:
According to CoachingNewsOnline.com, Arizona State coach Herb Sendek may not be completely happy on the West Coast.

The website reports that it continues to hear that Sendek wants to go back east. Sendek has spent five seasons with the Sun Devils, but grew up in Pittsburgh and previously coached at Miami (Ohio) and North Carolina State. And before that, he was an assistant at Providence and Kentucky.

If he leaves ASU, the website writes that Randy Bennett of St. Mary's would be the instant front-runner for that job, with New Mexico's Steve Alford and former New Mexico State coach Reggie Theus also getting looks. Bennett is currently rumored to be linked to the Utah job, while there is some thought Theus could be a good candidate to take over at Fresno State.

It seems like Bennett to ASU at least has some legs in terms of his preference of coaching, but that's why Hill needs to get a move on! Premptive strike.

If ASU wants Bennett as its no. 1 choice, Hill probably needs to look elsewhere. My sense is we aren't going to beat out ASU, if for no other reason than the huge local recruiting field disparity. Phoenix is also almost next door to LA.
