The rumors come from a couple of Grizz fans on their message boards. I take that with about 10,000 grains of salt.

This suggests greater worry than I believe you intend to convey. I recommend you go with "a molecule of salt," as two atoms (one of sodium and one of chlorine) would better denote the infinitesimally small concern.
