Hill should take his time. We have a bunch of senior JUCOS (12-18 last season) and one high mid-major recruit signed. PRIORITIES.
Take as long as you need, Dr. Hill. Like sex, this isn't a race. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Cardiac, I just want you to know I forgive you.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostI think Utah should settle for WoJo. He's the best they can do.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Lya saying it's either Krysto or Gottfired. If she's right, and who knows, but that kind of has to burn no? Obviously neither was close to the top of Hill's list because they both would have taken the job 3 weeks ago. Makes you wonder who Hill was really after and what happened. We'll likely never know. Again, this might all be moot of someone else besides these two emerge as the guy."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Either would be great and I have known that both have been at the top of his list all along.Originally posted by Surfah View PostLya saying it's either Krysto or Gottfired. lol I don't care what happened in the NBA except that he was well enough thought of to get the job.Originally posted by Maximus View Postyea I am sure utah fans will be thrilled with a guy who has coached 2 years in the big sky and then got fired from his next gig.
He made it to the second round of the NCAA playoffs in his second season at a Big Sky school; it's more than Rose can say. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I would be absolutely thrilled with a hire of Matt Gottfried. We would have a proven recruiter with west coast ties to recruit the 5 scholies we need to fill next year. Plus, he really wants the job which is a plus.Originally posted by Maximus View Postyea I am sure utah fans will be thrilled with a guy who has coached 2 years in the big sky and then got fired from his next gig.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

That sounds eerily familiar to what I was hearing from ute fans just a few years ago.Originally posted by SeattleUte View Postlol I don't care what happened in the NBA except that he was well enough thought of to get the job.
Look, I ripped ute fans when Boylen was hired because they looked at his resume, the things he was saying he would do with the program, all the ways he was (supposedly) different than Giac, etc - and as a group, they were almost embarrassingly overconfident about how the utes would do with his coaching. Hell, one of our best ute posters named his moniker according to his excitement over Jimmy. (FWIW - I've done the same several times in regard to Bronco) I don't blame fans for being optimistic about their team, but a little realism never hurts either.
The point being, if there is one thing I've learned aboutthat holds true about new coaches, is that in the overwhelming majority of the cases, we simply have no clue how good they are. Krsystowiak might be college basketball's version of Rich Kotite or he might be the next John Wooden. Being well thought of by NBA people isn't going to change that he's a complete unknown as a head coach at Utah.I'm like LeBron James.

I agree with your second paragraph. With that being the case, there is nothing wrong with fans being excited. Rival fans injecting "realism" and predicting doom and gloom is just rival fans being rival fans.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostThat sounds eerily familiar to what I was hearing from ute fans just a few years ago.
