      8 on 20 made shots.

Utah holds off Bradley 68-60. From following the stat tracker, it looks like Utah jumped out early and then played Bradley pretty evenly. Clyburn, Watkins and Watkins all in double figures. This probably makes up for the home loss vs. Oral Roberts.

Utah didn't get its 5th win until its 9th game last year, so getting win #5 in the 7th game shows some kind of improvement...especially with it being on the road. They've got an opportunity to beat Peperdine at home before heading to Michigan on December 10th.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

24-44 from the free throw line - lots of missed FT's down the stretch when Bradley was fouling intentionally.

They were 6-18 at one point in the second half. Jiggy Walking was 8-10 for the game. To me, it us good if your point guard is one of your best free throw shooters.

this Ute team is much better than last years team. Better players (Clyburn and Watkins are both better than Carlon and Henderson) and much better chemistry. They will still have a learning curve with each other...but the talent is a definite upgrade. Hopefully it will translate to some good wins. It will be fun to see.

Clyburn is the second best player Utah has had since Bogut. Josh Watkins is on par with Johnny Bryant, which puts him in the top five or six since Bogut. Too bad they were not paired with a solid returning player.

Clyburn shows every possibility of surpassing Neville. He's only played 7 games in DI. Watkins and Bryant are a bad comparison. Bryant was an outside bomber who had almost no assists. Watkins is a penetrator who gets the occasional assist. He too has played only 7 games, and shows promise of surpassing Bryant.

I agree that clyburn may pass Neville, but I would like to wait until the end of the conference season to assess that.

I wasn't comparing the game of Watkins to Bryant. I was placing them in the player hierarchy. He may likely pass Bryant and settle in behind clyburn and Neville. Watkins is the best pg we have had since mark Jackson, and may end up only behind Miller and Soto at the end of two years here..

though I would agree with you in regards to Bryant and Watkins not being too much alike, there are some similarities. They are both more of off guard type players than they are as point guards. Yes, Watkins is a better passer (and a better defender simply because he is as athletic as Bryant, but weighs about 30 pounds more), but they both look to get their points first before passing.

I like Watkins but he has a lot that he needs to improve on...he needs to involve his teammates more and he needs to realize that 90% of his shots do not have to involve him forcing the issue and driving to the hoop. I like his potential and I hope that Boylen can really develop it this year and next.

As I mentioned before, Clyburn is fabulous and smooth. He just seems to fill up the boxscore by doing just a bit of everything. Clyburn (thru his play) and Watkins (thru his attitude) seem to be the leaders of this team...I just hope that Watkins, Foster, Washburn, Glover, Obrien and Hines can follow and produce.

Winning at Bradley seems to have been a nice breakthrough for this develiping Ute team. TopUte would know best.

Historically, the MVC has overall shown itself to be a better conference than the MWC overall. The conference has undergone a lot of changes, but Bradley has been mainstay.

SU did you see that Indiana St. team that beat powerhouse Oral Roberts lost to Wyoming by 20? Yikes.

I agree. This thread is much less cute now. In fact, I take it back, not cute at all.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

My statement was more an indictment of our Point guard play the last 5-6 years, than a promotion of Watkins.

Okay. I was really surprised when you agreed with SU's a tad-over-the-top promotion of Watkins as better than Neville.

2 questions I am wondering. Maybe Senioritis knows?

                                1. Does Washburn have a speech impediment? Or just an unusual accent?
                                2. Clyburn has a tattoo across his upper chest. 1" letters. Anyone know what it says?
