I don't follow it as close as I once did, but I think that Krysto knows his stuff and I have long held that in consideration wrt to Yoeli Childs. I don't know much about the U and Popoola as he returned to Vegas his junior year so I don't even know how much the kid was on the U radar. But wrt Yoeli there was clearly something about him that Krysto did not want a part of.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Does he really? Utah's roster turnover rate hasn't changed since his initial house cleaning, which makes me wonder if he is not the talent scout he has the reputation of being or if he doesn't develop his players well enough."It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV

Just a quick look at ESPN and Utah's offers the last couple of years since he has tried to transition from JC focused to 4 year guys shows they've been making a lot of offers to very highly rated 4 and 5 star players and not getting any of them. I think he sees his own program being a lot higher profile than the kids he's going after do. He's been swinging for the fences and then having to go back for no name guys when those don't pan out. Maybe it will still work out great for them, who knows. I don't buy the safety garbage for dropping their game with us for this season. He knew we'd be up and they'd be down.Last edited by BlueK; 08-08-2016, 09:09 AM.

It was a really weird (and frustrating) recruiting round for Utah fans. Seemed like Larry wanted to cash in on his Sweet 16 appearance with some really highly ranked recruits. Utah came in second to at least three of them. Then it seemed like a scramble to find guys to fill in those spots. People still seem to like this group, but I'm in a wait and see mode. Will be interesting to see if Larry changes his strategy this round or if he takes those second places as a vote of confidence.Originally posted by BlueK View PostJust a quick look at ESPN and Utah's offers the last couple of years since he has tried to transition from JC focused to 4 year guys shows they've been making a lot of offers to very highly rated 4 and 5 star players and not getting any of them. If you look at who else Utah was trying to get, Childs just wasn't rated as high as all the guys Utah swung for the fences for, which left the door open for him to go to BYU. Maybe K didn't like him, but it would seem to me that it was more that they didn't think they'd have a place for him.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI don't follow it as close as I once did, but I think that Krysto knows his stuff and I have long held that in consideration wrt to Yoeli Childs. I am typically fine with some transfers out of the program...but this off season was pretty wild and just too much.
He picked up a couple of transfers this year and both of them have the potential to be important pieces for the team. Barefield and Collette. Krystko expects a lot out of them and I am not quite sure what to expect. It will be interesting to see. He has a foreign player in Jokl, two big returnees, two higher profile transfers, a 4 star recruit center and then pieces around him. If he can pull it off this year with a top 6 finish in the PAC-12 and 20+ wins...then I am extremely impressed with how he got everyone to gel together. Curious to see if he can pull it off.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

BYU has another commitment. Kolby Lee from Idaho. He's big at 6-9, 260. Mission first guy who had offers from DePaul, Utah State, Boise State, UC Davis, Portland, American, Richmond, Kent State and Weber State.

I admit it I'm gonna try to catch some Duke games to see Frank in action. Hope he does well.
