I'm trying to think of a worse loss during my BYU fandom and am not coming up with anything at the moment. Nice effort at the end, but it would have helped to have more of that throughout the rest of the game.
I may take the Applejack approach and decide that BYU didn't play basketball this week."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

Too painful/embarrassing a loss to discuss, but I'm curious about the sequence after Barcello got tied up at the end. Pacific inbounded the ball in the back court, BYU knocked it out after a few seconds, and Pacific inbounded again from the back court. Pacific didn't get the ball across the midcourt line within ten seconds of the first inbound play. Shouldn't the ball have gone to BYU? Still, Pacific deserved the win. Such an awful week for the team. Another loss to any non-Gonzaga team and it's probably NIT, here we come.

I could be wrong, but I believe a team gets a new 10 seconds if the ball gets knocked out and they inbound again, as weird as that may seem. I'm also pretty sure the NBA doesn't have a 10 second rule for crossing half court because the shot clock will get to them eventually anyway.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostToo painful/embarrassing a loss to discuss, but I'm curious about the sequence after Barcello got tied up at the end. 10 second rule is for any time you possess the ball in the backcourt. After possession (e.g. catching the inbounds pass in the backcourt), you have 10 seconds to get the ball to the front court. This applies regardless of amount of time on the shot clock so yes you get a new 10 second count if you have to inbound the ball to the backcourt again after losing it out of bounds. NBA backcourt count is actually 8 seconds since the 2001 season.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

Thanks. That reveals how little I watch the NBA these days.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View Post
