I think we might lose the whole roster. I'll believe Hines is coming back when I see him on the floor. Anyway, I've seen these "I'm transferring, no I'm not" situations before and they really damage the relationship. Is this a hold up? If Boylen doesn't play him again is he gone again? If Henderson is gone, why not Washburn or any other of them? This seems to be an epidemic.

My speculation is that Boylen reacted to a losing season like Gearge Karl did in his first gig or Matt Doherty at North Carolina. He needed to stay cool, he had something good going. But he seems to have let his emotions get the best of him (Katy Lied has been warning us about this character flaw). He had the nucleus of a nice program but I think he's probably pissing it all away. If he loses any more players he should think about resigning. Utah didn't hire him to wind up with an empty roster after three years.

If you want to know what he's reduced to just look at DiMaria's stats at that tiny JC in Casper. DiMaria is a Wyoming reject.

Yes, Giac got what he deserved. You can't have a coach who quits on his team.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that firing Boylen hasn't crossed Dr. Hill's mind even once this year. As for the fans, however, many turned on Boylen long before players started leaving.

Sure, it could have happened that way, or it's nothing but rank speculation. The only facts we have are a win-loss record and 4 or 5 players transfering.

Seattle Majerus Fan never fails to come down on the wrong side of an issue. The fact that he is now anti-Boylen tells us Boylen is about to be a big success.

If five players transfer there is something very wrong happening. Some have noted his emotional state. I thought he was out of line in the press conference after the BYU game. This might be different if there were an established standard of excellence like with Bobby Knight and Rick Majurus and players just weren't cutting it. I can't tell what standard he's setting. I hear rumors that he decided after his third season to lay down the law.

You mean like when I told you to shut up about Utah having to fire Whit?

You did no such thing but I'm sure you'll post something that you claim does.

You know what, if he reverses the talent flow I might change my mind. I was very pro Boylen after his 14-17 season because I like the team he was assembling. What's happening now is very bizarre and wrong.

I'm also sick of excuses like girlfriends and homsick. hoopkowldedge is right. That's such BS.

Utah's basketball office reminds me of Bronco, all this petty incredible PR. But Bronco is actually a little more creative.

Mostly is shows that you're a person who no one would never trust because you don't know the word loyalty and love stabbing people in the back.

You mean like you have stabbed someone who gave his 15 best years to Utah and made Utah's best years?

And then crapped on the program and continues to do so and you love him for it.

And Seattle Majerus Fan loses again.

You folks who have been around longer than I, is Seattle ever right, even in the broken clock sense of it?

Four or five players leaving gives a strong indication of disarray. Beyond that, facts are few.

Boylen has yet to pound the scorers table. Concern over his emotional state may be exaggerated. Was he "pissing it away" when he let certain players ignore him during practice or after the season when he "laid down the law"?

Maybe he shouldn't have chewed Monson's butt like that, but everyone has bad days.

                            Returning
                            David Foster
                            Shawn Glover
                            Jace Tavita
                            Jason Washburn
                            Jay Watkins
                            Chris Hines

                            Recruits
                            Preston Guiot
                            JJ O'Brien
                            Dominique Lee (if he qualifies)
                            Anthony DiMaria

We can get long range shooting from Hines, Guiot and DiMaria. O'Brien, Lee and Glover can give us what Carlon gave us and everyone else improves with an offseason work out. I don't honestly think we'll be worse and its quite likely we'll be better.

When I saw Donny Daniels on the bench with UCLA this year I had to text a friend to make sure it was him. He looks like he is about 3 hours from death. Seems like it would be a great hire.

You know I really never thought I'd see the day that Ute fans would advocate letting a failing coach continue at the helm of a once proud program (not that fans really have any say in the matter), I really didn't. Funk, the expectations might be unrealistic but suggesting that the man be given any more time at this point, even for the sake of "now he has no excuses" shouldn't be the expectation at the U. It is and can be again a very good program and hoping that Boylen somehow turns this around might be wishful thinking of the worst kind IMO.
