K State looks like a more skilled and polished version of SDSU and UNLV. They contest every shot and go hard to the glass. It's not a good matchup for us. But anything can happen in a one game setting. I'm just enjoying the journey. Do we have a game time yet?

I don't see how in the world we're going to be able to effectively defend them. I think the prayer is that we can zone them and they go cold and that we also somehow effectively rebound out of the zone.

Kansas State by 15 or so.

I picked BYU by 7 over Florida, so I wasn't suffering from Battered Spouse Syndrome like a lot of our fans were before that game.

BYU is either due for Emery (finally), Haws and JT to have a good game, tomorrow. Or Loyd and Jimmer will have to carry the load themselves again and I don't love our chances.

Yesterday was the worst game I have ever seen from Emery, he was awful.

He was awful for most of the game, but wow that 3 to cut the lead to 1 in regulation. Wow.

I saw someone post that our rebounding faults against Florida were due to going small with Emery playing the 3. I usually think of the two big men as the primary rebounders, but sure enough as I rewatched the end of the game, there were several times where one of the big men was pulled out from under the rim to defend and Emery was stuck trying to rebound. A lot of the times we got abused on the boards, that was the case. Though he did get his share of rebounds. Rose is going to be tempted to go Jimmer-Jax-Loyd a lot, for the next few games this season and next season. Rebounding will continue to be a weakness if he does that.

It should be another early game, tipping off sometime between 10 and 12:30. CBS tends to follow the same format down the brackets; for example the winners of the games that are just now tipping off will play in Saturday's late games.

Locally, they were very complimentary of Jimmer and Loyd and Coach Rose. It has probably run its course already in the Utah media, but for those outside of Utah, have you noticed that usually when Coach Rose is mentioned, his battle with cancer is also part of the discussion?

BYU is definitely one of the featured stories of the tourney thus far and there are a lot of feelgood aspects to this team.

I look at the time slot for the K-State game and it seems that CBS wants to make this one of the few showcase games of Round 2.

It's a compelling game. An athletic, high ranked K State team against BYU, a team with a national following. It's a natural to hype that game.

Yea, I think our game is in prime time. Goes up against KY, but I don't know if that will be much of a game.

Kentucky/Wake Forest might be a fun one. Two big names going after each other.

Not sure of the spread on the KSU game although KSU will likely be favored. Spreads be damned!
