For some people it's a reflex action, even when they're in their own endzone.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Some people spike or drop the ball before they get to the endzone. And then their fans celebrate while the opposing team runs the ball all the way back to the other endzone for a touchdown.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

What's hilarious about people touting Europe as a contrast to America is that Europe was getting crushed for months while Texas and Florida were nearly untouched. It's just reversed, except that Florida abd Texas have already turned it around and will never fall as far as Europe, not to mention Europe is now beset by a new wave. Europe's deaths per million are still much worse than the United States', especially if we kick out New York and New Jersey.

As hypocritical as it is, we all know that Covid is looked at differently because white, 1st world people are dying from it. Can you imagine how much worse things would be if Covid wasn't looked at as an old person's disease. Old people aren't quite as expendable as 3rd world people, so people seem to care more.

What would make a young professional with everything to lose throw a gasoline-filled Bud Light bottle at a cop car?

Two young idealistic lawyers face minimum 35 years in federal prison for setting an abandoned and vandalized police car in fire. Very sad story.

Was reading about a guy in Louisiana serving a life sentence for attempting to steal hedge trimmers. Louisiana Supreme Court would not overturn it, though there was a single dissenting vote.
