Some interesting data from the state of Utah last week. 88% of hospitalizations are unvaccinated. Of the 12% vaccinated, average age was something like 70 and they averaged about 6-7 co-morbidities. For the 88% unvaxxed, the average age was 15-20 years younger and they averaged 1-2 co-morbidities.

I don't get why the Right continues to engage in pretzel logic about the vaccines. Don't overthink it. Just get the damn shot. It's not like they make a habit of thinking anyway.

The death rate is less than 1%, and those are with co-morbidities.

Thus the appropriate use of "mostly".

So the vaccines are like only 50% effective against the Δ covid from what I read somewhere and now there is a study out saying that the vaccinated load up and carry as much virus as the unvaccinated. It seems we should be wearing like 5 masks at once, social distancing (i.e., distanced learning, not going to football games, etc), shutting down the economy (restaurants, etc.) and all that stuff again.

The findings have the potential to upend past thinking about how the disease is spread. Previously, vaccinated people who got infected were thought to have low levels of virus and to be unlikely to pass it to others. But the new data shows that is not the case with the delta variant.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will not be granting religious exemption to COVID-19 vaccine mandates in California, according to a report Friday from The Salt Lake Tribune.

The question has been brought up because California now requires vaccines for health care workers, teachers and others.

The Tribune reports that some Californian members of the faith (which is headquartered in Salt Lake City) have asked their local leaders to support their applications to receive religious waivers from their employers.

The Tribune obtained a letter written by the church's Area Presidency to local leaders in California, which tells them to not sign such faith-based exemption applications.
