This thing is going to be here a while. You can't force people to get vaccines. I was hoping for more incentives from the government and private sector by now. Sounds like the Military will require the vaccine this fall when one or more of the vaccines receive full FDA approval.

I really really hope not and if I’m betting man I’d say they will still be held mainly because the financial loss from not holding them is just too big. But then again, with Covid you never know how things will be handled. At this point, if they are not held, it’ll be at the fault of Japan. They’ve had a long time to figure out the logistics and get their population vaccinated and they haven’t done it.

I've noticed that some of these Asian countries that did such a good job testing and staving off major outbreaks (Japan, Thailand) have done an absolute shit job vaccinating. I know Thailand is developing its own proprietary vaccine that won't be ready for primetime for the general population until December-- no idea why aren't acquiring vaccines from the U.S. or other places.

I have a good friend that lives and works in Thailand and is absolutely desperate to get vaccinated. If he and his wife get covid in Thailand, his whole building would get shut down, they would be forced into quarantine, and his kids would be in the care of the beneficent Thai government. His employer forbids him from air travel right now or he'd go rogue and come get one stateside. It's honestly complete bullshit that the Department of State doesn't offer a vaccine for U.S. citizens at the consular office there in Bangkok. What the everloving f*k is he still paying U.S. taxes for every year? Keeping the snow plows gassed up in Idaho?

Saw an interview with utah gov spencer cox a week or two ago. Given the recent uptick he was asked in utah would consider reinstating restrictions like masks. He said some thing to the effect of: "No way. We have a very simple and effective solution. Go get vaccinated."
