Like I've been saying, this isn't rocket science. We need data to fight this thing. We should just test the whole country.

Why Germany’s coronavirus death rate is so much lower than other countries’ rates

Houston has two drive-thru test sites open. They tested 500 people yesterday and anticipated testing 500 more today. However, if they don't get in more tests after today they will have to close the testing centers because they are out of tests. Imagine that, the fourth largest city in the US is on the verge of not being able to test for this virus and we are months past when other countries were testing tens of thousands each day. The government's (I blame Trump) biggest failure in all of this is not having the testing capability ready when needed. Now we are slow to build up the capacity in the hospitals and get enough masks/shields/gowns/etc. (but fortunately seem ahead of China and Italy on that front). If we had tested early and often we wouldn't have the dire need for the other measures coming our way. Utter failure by the federal government, plain and simple. What a nightmare.

This doesn't address the multiple Stanford doctors who have questioned the current approach. This article I posted says the published death rate may be overstated by orders of magnitude because there are so many out there who are infected and without symptoms. I'm sure John's Hopkins agrees the death rates are overstated. The question is, by how much?

At least they admit that extrapolating from testing of "a substantial number of NBA players and teams" and getting an estimate of 990,000 infections in the U.S. is "very week" and that "the NBA is not a representative population."

They are 100% correct with this:

New bill would withhold pay from Senate until coronavirus stimulus package passes
