Just had a knock at the door. It was the son of a family that used to be in our ward. He is a missionary and just got back from Chile two days ago and had only been out two weeks. He baked cookies with his companion (friend from our ward) and is out delivering them. Yeah, when I saw him I didn't let him inside. He used air quotes when saying he was in quarantine...
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I assume the cookies have been placed in quarantine.

Yep. We should see pretty soon if there is something to it. Let’s hope we get competent clinicians studying it instead of our cheerleader president.

Good Twitter thread in the Democrats corona Bill. Like a Christmas list for lib pet projects. Congressional Democrats are blowing it as bad as Trump.

This thread. Please read it all. The insane, irrelevant crap Democrats are trying to stuff into the emergency corona stimulus is GALLING. Get serious, Congress. Lives are in the balance.

The researchers found that most coronavirus transmissions had occurred in regions with low temperatures, between 37.4 and 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit (or 3 and 17 degrees Celsius).

While countries with equatorial climates and those in the Southern Hemisphere, currently in the middle of summer, have reported coronavirus cases, regions with average temperatures above 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit (or 18 degrees Celsius) account for fewer than 6 percent of global cases so far.

“Wherever the temperatures were colder, the number of the cases started increasing quickly,” said Qasim Bukhari, a computational scientist at M.I.T. who is a co-author of the study. “You see this in Europe, even though the health care there is among the world’s best.”

USFK not at alll interested in herd immunity.

A USFK contractor from Camp Humphreys (made famous on World War Z!) contracted COVID-19 and here is the readout on the post facebook page:

Well the Summer Olympics is postponed up to a year, as expected. It's interesting to watch everything unfold. This whole thing is surreal.

Six days: Tracking Sen. Rand Paul from coronavirus testing to positive diagnosis

“For those who want to criticize me for lack of quarantine, realize that if the rules on testing had been followed to a T, I would never have been tested and would still be walking around the halls of the Capitol,” Paul said in a lengthy statement Monday. “The current guidelines would not have called for me to get tested nor quarantined.”

He added: “It was my extra precaution, out of concern for my damaged lung, that led me to get tested.”
