My freaking India company is revolting on me, wanting to continue working from home. We had scheduled July 1 as the date to reconvene at the office. They want to go at least another month. Virus is still in infant stages possibly in India. Hard to know if it's going to be a big nothing, or if it's going to continue to pick up steam.

I’m probably a month or two late, but today was the first day I realized that CV19 is here to stay. And it depressed the shit out of me.

Sorry man. I have been clinically depressed for 3 months. I have been trying to exercise which helps a little but it’s sucks. It really, really sucks.

But it's grown so slowly over several months now, I just don't think it's going to be that big of a deal. And by that I mean no worse than what USA has experienced. I don't view what we have experienced as justifying the economic shut down.

So I assume they are teleworking. Are you not happy with that arrangement? Are they less productive? What is the downside of letting them continue to work from home?

Is there an assumption that because they are not in the office that they are not working as hard?

We are doing a 50/50 teleworking schedule and I find that those that are productive in the office are equally productive while teleworking. Those that need to be pushed in the office are less productive.

They know their situation and how uncomfortable they would be in the office and facing possible infection. Maybe it's a good move to show sensitivity to that concern. But I've never managed a team in India.

Delhi overtakes Mumbai as worst-hit city in India by the virus

NEW DELHI — With over 70,000 coronavirus cases, India’s capital city, Delhi, has emerged as the country’s new hotspot. On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 3,788 new infections and overtook Mumbai, which had been the worst-hit city till now. Delhi has, however, seen fewer deaths than India’s financial capital, where the count is nearing 4,000.

Delhi’s local government is scrambling to ramp its infrastructure, which has begun to buckle as cases rise steadily. Patients have been shifted to railway cars that have been converted into isolation wards with medical teams deployed from the armed forces.

The city is racing to build a jumbo 10,000-bed health-care facility at the campus of a spiritual center. Hotels and banquet halls have been roped in to ease the pressure on hospitals. It also plans to carry out door-to-door screening of every household in the next two weeks. Delhi’s metropolitan area is home to 29 million people.

India has struggled to contain the coronavirus pandemic ever since it lifted its stringent lockdown in a bid to save the hemorrhaging economy.
