Yeah, Americans need to ease up a bit on their privacy concerns. It's a crisis.

I don't understand why Utah wouldn't name those businesses. It's going to get out anyway, especially in the community. Just let everyone know the businesses. That way they can manage their own risk, avoid those places, and feel more comfortable about going out into the community. It will also act as an effective deterrent to other businesses that are thinking about playing poker with the health of their employees.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I only have one political nutjob among my FB friends, and I keep him for entertainment as well as some insight into a segment of society to which I'd otherwise be blind. I'm sure there are thousands of these memes floating around, and the fact that millions buy into this is depressing.

          That's funny. People are dumb.

This thread gives us a glimpse of the future of business travel:

Screw that... let all the airlines go bankrupt. I am staying home.

Anyone think travel to Europe in September with an immunosuppressed companion is a good idea?

Me personally, I wouldn't do it. But I also wouldn't even consider booking the trip. Who knows what COVID is going to look like there in 4 months.

A clampdown apostate from Johns Jopkins Med school speaks out.

These articles that say it's now time to change the clamp down policy can usually be read as it was a bad idea from the beginning.

I'm already over-insured and my would-be companion is uninsurable. But thanks for the idea.

I'm considering booking for at least a few reasons. First, the airlines/hotels/etc. are wide open right now. Second, the airline is not charging any change/cancellation fees for flights booked by May 31. Third, I have the points and am itching to use them.

CNN now considers Greta Thunberg an expert on the kung fu virus as well as an expert on climate change:

Well if you can back out of everything by May 31 that's good. But depending on where you're going I'd be very cautious.

I would go to Sweden, they should have herd immunity by fall.

This is the verbiage from the airline:

For tickets issued between April 1, 2020, and May 31, 2020, customers will be permitted to change free of charge to a flight of equal or lesser value for travel up to 12 months from the original ticket issue date.
If I'm reading that right, if I book by May 31, I can lock in the flights for September. And if September won't work - for any reason - I'll be able to postpone the flights to as late as the following September with no fees.

The downside is that my points would be locked in with that airline (which seems to have the most economical path to/from Europe). Maybe better rewards travel opens up with a different airline between now and the time we actually go.
