It's what we get when have a President and cult of personality who finds it to mock reliable allies with treats of invasion to the point the even war game about how to resist us.

We've got a drunk frat boy with a Dept of "War." He keeps going around like a madman making unneeded changes that are rarely helpful and often harmful.

Our intelligence apparatus is also severely damaged. I wonder if the five eyes still functions.

I think we've crossed the Rubicon. My primary worry with Trump was always national security. It was always NATO being sabotaged and our intelligence services being kneecapped and Russia gaining the advantage.

    • Reporting that 3 carrier battle groups- the Abraham Lincoln, the Gerald Ford, and the George HW Bush - will be used to blockade the Strait of Hormuz.

The military is absolutely in the hands of the stupidest people possible.

The whole war is stupid but if Iran is going to close the strait to others I think the blockade is a smart response.

You think escalating the war to include firing on neutral parties and/or our allies/rivals is a smart response?

I don’t think we will need to fire on anyone.

Hey when is that 60 day bullshit deadline that the president needs to go to congress for congressional authorization before his excursion that has yet another act of war with the blockade gets officially called a war?

End of this month. But he can also authorize a 30 day extension so really it's 90 days.

When a warship says "turn around" and the other ship says "fuck off,," what's the next step? General Caine said the military would execute pre-planned order, including disabling shots, boarding, and seizure. How does that go over in Beijing or Paris?

Yeah, right now it is big insurance companies making the call whether or not a ship will take a chance and pass through the strait. And they are very conservative.

                            • We are already being challenged. If that takes place in terms of this blockade is to be seen. But Hegseth and Trump have done little to merit trust in their leadership. They are bad at this stuff.

The mineweeping operations are interesting to me. My guess is we will have a small corridor cleared in the next week or so big enough to allow some traffic to resume. Evidently, a tanker went through today so someone is already testing the waters.

I disagree with those of you who think this whole thing has been botched. Thus far, the operation has been very successful.
