Who gives a shit, really. Constitution give us all the right to our own political views. The mounting evidence only confirms that he/she was on to something: Trump was using the U.S. Government to pursue his own domestic political agenda by asking foreign governments to affect the 2020 election.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Driving in the car a while ago I heard him trying out a different approach with respect to the Ukraine call, declaring that Biden had nothing to do with it (despite mentioning Biden several times in the call), and that he couldn't care less about Biden's campaign. He said he was simply fulfilling his "duty" to ferret out corruption. But when a reporter asked if he could identify any other individual he had mentioned specifically in other calls as he's worked to fight corruption, Trump said something like, "I'll have to get back to you on that."

As corrupt as Ukraine has been, I suspect there are several other countries (let's start with Russia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and North Korea) with even greater corruption issues. I doubt very much Trump has done anything, despite his self-sworn "duty", to address corruption issues in those nations, but let's see if he gets back to us on that.

Even Tucker Carlson is now saying the Ukraine call was big mistake and there's no good way to spin it. But Carlson says he shouldn't be impeached for it. I expect the GOP to circle the wagons around both of those points.

          • Trump has given Turkey the green light to invade northern Syria and slaughter the Kurds. Everyone not called Ted should realize how awful this is.

I’ll be honest that I know almost nothing about this so it’s tough to care. Why doesn’t great Britain or France or one of those beloved socialist countries like Sweden or the Netherlands step in and help out?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Right now they literally aren’t in physical position to do so. They did take part of the campaign against ISIS. The French and British have been our most active allies in campaigns against extremists? So it’s not like these benevolent socialists are sitting out the fight. The Dutch have a smaller military than the UK or France but I believe did participate against ISIS.

The Kurds were our ground troops in that battle. We had an agreement we’d prevent Turkey from invading. It really is a straight up betrayal and surprise surprise it favors Russia and their allies.

You should read up on geopolitics and foreign affairs. That stuff impacts us just like domestic matters do.

                • OMG, it is true... here is the "smoking gun" that the Ukrainians were interfering in our elections:

Smoking Gun? Glenn Beck Releases Audio Of Ukrainian Official Admitting He Interfered In U.S. Election To Help ‘Hillary’

Glenn Beck has just released an audiotape of the former Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), Artem Sytnyk, admitting he “helped” Hillary during the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Sytnyk was convicted for election interference in December 2018 in Kiev. The court ruled that the publication of the “black ledger” documents “led to interference in the electoral processes of the United States in 2016 and harmed the interests of Ukraine as a state".

Oh wait... they were helping Hillary. Nothing to see here.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

                      Yeah, this is horrible.

                        • As usual with Trump, there is a grain of good idea in what he does but his manner of doing it and everything surrounding him is so terrible that he deserves all the opprobrium he receives. And more.

Should we have been in Northern Syria to begin with? Perhaps not, but that choice was made by earlier leaders and so there we are. Getting out is a nod to the many reasons suggesting we should never have gone in. But doing it like this, which is a betrayal of the Kurds, who we have used as important allies in several regions of the middle east and who have been a long oppressed people that deserve better, and doing it on its own and not as part of some greater orchestrated approach to the middle east makes us look confused at best and idiotic at worst, undermines our credibility with ALL of our allies, and strengthens our regional and geopolitical enemies. Get us out of the region, but do so in a systematic and logical way that allows people to plan for our departure and doesn't upend alliances and local stability.
                          PLesa excuse the tpyos.

In some ways, it bothers me more too. It’s an active national security issue for one.
