His office told the whistleblower to go to the IG. Schiff may end up being shifty Schiff in the end, but so far it sounds like everyone did what they were supposed to do, after a few hiccups.

No one is suggesting that. You are conflating issues. The allegedly impeachable conduct was demanding a quid pro quo from Ukraine by asking for assistance in investigating Biden in exchange for not holding up military aid. .

No. It's using the Office of President to ask a foreign head of state for a personal favor for personal/political gain absent a national policy consideration/benefit. The quid pro quo is certainly an aggravating factor, but that is not the minimal standard. Heck, Madison believed incompetence was grounds for impeachment. Get this guy outta here.

A stunning feature of a lot of Trump fans is their little poker face. Many don't openly admit they like him, but defend him like Cap'n Save A Ho every time he does something indefensible.

I don't mind a little cognitive dissonance, but how can Trump's defenders, including Pence today, go after Biden's son for his dealings with Ukraine and China, while ignoring the Trump boys and Ivanka who are engaging in transactions with foreign governments and businesses on a scale far greater than those of Hunter's? I get that what Hunter was able to snag looks sleazy and Joe should have reined in his son while Joe was in office. I have no argument with that. But why do the Trump kids get a pass here, especially when their dad receives a direct benefit (as owner of most of their businesses) from their activities?

Trump's brazen call this morning for China to investigate Hunter--this on the eve of trade talks with China--is astonishing to me, or would be if any president other than his Drumpfness were doing it.
