The GOP impulse to cow tow anything Trump desires will have such negative consequences that will fall on completely deaf ears when progressives get in office salivating at the executive power they now enjoy. I get the anti anti Trump folks here prefer to nit pick at these little battles but it's the entirety of his agenda that concentrates more and more power in the executive that is the genuine malfeasance that the population as a whole feels. Some misinfo on the Greenland situation.
It's true in the 1300s Denmark claimed Greenland.
So the Greenlandic population has the legal right to claim independence and a mechanism to do so. They are choosing to remain with Denmark and have representation in the Danish parliaments.
By a narrow majority they want to remain with Denmark.
I'd be ok if Greenland wanted to join the United States because their people did.
It would be like us threatening to take over Aruba from the Dutch.
Also worth emphasizing Denmark is treaty-bound ally and we are supposed to defend their territory from invasion. We have a military base there.Comment
