For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yes we can - because they have been given explicit authority from the US Supreme Court to racially profile people. Of course they will use that authority.

Why. Trump didn't make Minnesota or Mexico problems (he does own Venezuela, but I don't think he's trying to hide that -- he loves it). Why would he try to distract the public from paying attention to things he likes and approves of?

So, not a distraction from those things. But probably from Epstein.

            • Who here is willing to defend the DOJ's criminal inquiry into Fed Chair Jerome Powell? Anyone? Or can we admit that Trump ("I don't know anything about it" -- after a full year of pressuring Powell to lower interest rates) is weaponizing the DOJ against his enemies? The very thing he accused the Biden administration of doing. And let's be clear, if the Biden administration was WRONG for weaponizing the DOJ (as Trump and so many others claim), why is it okay for Trump to do so?

Shaka, dabrockster (is there anyone else left defending the administration in this), thoughts?

                Yes.

A naturalized US citizen was approached at a gas station. A Kavanaugh stop is permitted based on the apparent race/ethnicity, presence at particular locations like day laborer pickup sites, agricultural sites, car washes, bus stops(?!), speaking Spanish or accented English, or a combination.

Take away presence - he's at a filling station.
Take away language - he's not speaking.
Take away the possibility of an administrative warrant or previous investigation- he's a citizen.

So that leaves... race. A black man, who didn't look American or something, forced to deal with racist assholes sent there by racist assholes.

                It's always been race.

I definitely would t defend it as I view it as one of the worst things Trump is doing. The independence of the Fed is vitally important to our economy and Trump is clearly stupid in wanting the Fed to reduce rates faster than necessary.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

falafel. Stop thinking I fully support Trump. So sick of this bullshit on this because I push back.

I do not agree with it and see it as a witch hunt by Trump. But I will say this. Any multi-Billion dollar renovation funded by our tax dollars is a crime in of itself. WTF!!

I also hate this as Trump is again fucking with our stocks and making the market uneasy. Just as I am looking at refinancing.

                    • This is the flip-flopping I am taking about. Many celebrating Irans possible revolution and removal of the regime and talking Trump crying wolf. And now it looks like he will act and the boobirds come chirping immediately.

Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t.

You can be supportive of Iranians rebelling against oppression and not agree that the US military invading is the wisest way to do that.

                          • Trump now mumbling about Bondi being weak.. Umm. She has brought every case he was wished to court and tried to indict even when she shouldn't have. While I do think the initial roll-out and blunder of the Epstein files was a disaster, no one ever survives working for Trump.. He goes through staff like a temp-agency...

President Trump has complained to aides repeatedly in recent weeks about Attorney General Pam Bondi, describing her as weak and an ineffective enforcer of his agenda, administration officials and other people familiar with his complaints said.

The criticisms appear to be part of an intense campaign by Trump to pressure the Justice Department to more aggressively pursue his priorities, some of the officials said. Trump has previously criticized Bondi at times but his vocal concerns about his attorney general have grown more frequent in recent months, officials said.

This month, Trump has talked with allies about how he could appoint special counsels at the Justice Department because he is so frustrated with what he sees as the slow progress of its work, people familiar with the matter said.

Chief among his grievances is what he sees as Bondi’s failure to quickly and effectively prosecute the investigators who had pursued him for years, including former FBI Director James Comey and New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James, the officials and others familiar with his complaints said. Both criminal cases were dismissed in November by a judge who said the Trump aide who secured the indictment had been improperly appointed to her post. Trump has wanted to see the cases continue quickly.

A Justice Department investigation into another of Trump’s antagonists, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, became public on Sunday night. Powell, whom Trump has publicly berated and pressured to lower interest rates, disclosed that the Justice Department was pursuing a criminal investigation over his testimony last summer about the central bank’s building-renovation project.

Trump has also complained frequently that Bondi’s handling of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has created months of political and personal headaches for him, officials familiar with the complaints said. When White House chief of staff Susie Wiles told Vanity Fair that Bondi “whiffed” on her handling of the files, Trump told staff that he agreed with Wiles, two officials said.
