To be fair, that comparison is stupid. One is past cash flows received over a short period of time and the other represents a decrease in future cash flows into perpetuity from public companies.Originally posted by LVAllen View PostTrump claims the US is getting rich off tariffs. A whopping $500m in tariff money extracted from the US economy while $10 trillion in value has been wiped out.
Trump math.
But regardless of the bad comparison, the whole Trump economic plan is a disaster."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Unfortunately for Trump, the laws of economics don’t bend at his will. Just like the fact the 10-year treasury rate has gone up a lot in spite of a cooling economy. It’s all because of his horrible economic plan.Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. He's never taken responsibility for anything that turned bad, blaming Powell when it's clear his stupid economic policy isn't working. At some point even the Trumpers have got to realise this is enough.Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post

Sure, there's other national leaders who are clowns. But can you imagine having to go through his same shtick that he does with every leader in front of reporters and not roll your eyes constantly?
I hope she gets a tariff break for this:
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

I support this one. Avoiding political flags/signage in government facilities and schools is a good idea. Trump flags are off limits too.Originally posted by falafel View Post

I don't know what the full details are, but if students aren't allowed to fly pride flags that is a problem.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

I think it depends on the context. Public officials are not allowed to fly any kind of flags other than state flag, us flag, etc in government offices/settings. A faculty member can have one in his/her office, but you couldn't put one in a classroom for example.Originally posted by falafel View Post

Here is the actual law if anyone is interested:
https://le.utah.gov/~2025/bills/static/HB0077.html
Strong support (62%) from the public. Spencer Cox likes the intent, but doesn't like this bill. He didn't sign it but let it become law because it was veto-proof.

That's seems like a slippery slope. Who gatekeeps what's political? The law was made with the intent of preventing the Pride flag specifically. I think some adjustments were made in the process.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

The guy sponsored the bill, Trevor Lee is one of those deznat homophobes.
There would be an argument to be made that Christian iconography could be political.

Edit: BIG problem with that, in terms of the actual language of the statute.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
