We're apparently expected to believe that Imposing ridiculous worldwide tariffs that will make China a more attractive trade partner with the rest of the world; taking away billions in R&D funding from U.S. universities; "turbocharging" the coal industry; doing untold damage to relationships with our allies; tearing up dozens of trade agreements (including those he negotiated in his first term--he described his USMCA at "the most modern, up-to-date, and balanced trade agreement in the history of our country"), eliminating any expectation of good faith when dealing with the U.S., etc., etc. will result in massive economic gains for the U.S.? And all this from a demonstrable economics and history ignoramus.
