But they could go back up depending on ongoing "negotiations." America is strong, America is winning, the rest of the world sees that America is serious about not being cheated anymore.
        SWISH!!!
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The transformation of the republican party is complete. Coolidge, Hayek, Friedman, Buckley, and Reagan would not associate themselves with the economic illiteracy that is now the de facto party platform. In 20 years they have gone from advocating for free markets to all out trade wars. The fruits of a full embrace of populism are abandonment of principle and reason and eventual insanity.

I'm glad I jumped ship after the Trump nomination in 2016.

Ha. Looks like I was writing my post as the pause news was breaking. But it doesn't make the positions held by the party any less stupid.

Reagan would hate Trump and didn't say glowingly positive when alive.

Cult is an appropriate term for many of his diehard supporters.

Agreed. I left with you in 2016. I remember getting in a yelling tiff with repub calling to raise funds for Trump that year.

Down up 2500 points after the announcement. This is just blatant market manipulation. Done so even the dumbest of the republican jnsiders (e.g.. MTG and Tuberville) can make a fortune.

Gotta disagree this was all a scheme to manipulate the market.

Yep. This is purely the chaotic actions motivated by Trump's ego and insecurities. There is no forethought.

We're not out of the woods. Very real economic damage has been done, and will continue under these Chinese tariffs and likely upcoming EU tariffs.

It is not Navarro’s motivation. But Trump and others see the opportunities it is creating.

As far as swishes go, this one was pretty solid.

Care to use any of that prognostic power to advise me on how to play the market now?
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Due more to inertia than principle, I didn't leave the party until January 7 0r 8, 2020, when it became clear it had become a party of invertebrates. And it's nauseating how Trump loves crowing when (in his mind anyway), an opponent has come on their hands and knees to "kiss my ass", (notice it's about him, not the country) a declaration he has made about Romney, Rubio, Vance, and now pretty much every foreign nation. So presidential--it's truly embarrassing. It's like we elected a stupider version of this guy:
