Canadians are being advised to be careful when crossing into the US and preferably to use a burner phone because US border agents will check their phones and are likely to detain them if they find anything on there not in line with Trump:

Howard Lutnick (himself a pretty lousy fellow) says we should relax and let Trump "run the global economy." That's depressing for seveal reasons including (i) that anyone believes a U.S. President or any individual can "run the global economy," (ii) the absurd belief that Trump's capable of running even a large corporation very well, and (iii) the comment comes from our Commerce Secretary who should know better.

In an interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” Bessent called it a “false narrative” that people who are close to retiring may be reluctant after their retirement savings may have dropped last week because of the stock market downturn.

One more thing...my brother in law apparently got into an exchange on social media about how he doesn't agree with how that legal resident was snatched up and sent to El Salvador to prison without due process. The person he was arguing with said that non-citizens don't have a right to due process.

Well according to the Constitution they do:


Amendment 5 says No Person is to be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process. It's clear. Not sure if clear enough for some of the fake originalists on the current Supreme Court, but we'll see. Maybe they'll surprise us as some of these cases finally get to them.
