I’m cautiously optimistic for Trump 2.0. He’ll do plenty that people hate and he’ll tread on some rights, but overall I’m confident the checks and balances will work like they did against Biden, Obama and Bush. I’m also excited for a little freeing of the economy through reduced federal regulations. Trump is inheriting a stable economy so let’s see what he does with it.

I highly doubt any freeing of the economy will be worth <flaying arms about wildly> all this.

the level of crazy, eye opening in scope (saying something after we've experienced 4 years of Trump and concentrated in just one month), should make us all clear-eyed about what this term is going to be like.

Trump in a nutshell. Rarely focused on anything of importance (Gulf of America? Mt. McKinley? please) but also casually stepping into foreign relations disasters (taking back the Panama Canal?). Thankfully, you can believe maybe one out of five things he says anyway, but you can only hope he doesn't mean what he says about any of the important things.

The tarrifs, as proposed, will be just as economically damaging of the spending under Biden. I kind of think they won't be anywhere near as high as he has said. But then you get the most brain dead idiotic shit like this.

I’d be shocked if he implemented tariffs that drive the economy into the toilet. Mainly because that’s a sure fire way for the party to lose the next couple elections. Americans have way too much of their livelihoods wrapped up in the stock market for any president to weather a really bad economy.

But knowing Trump, there’s always the possibility that he’s too proud to change course even when it’s damaging.

The main thing I'm looking forward to over the next 4 years is having far fewer nationwide opinions issue forth from the Supreme Court of the Fifth Circuit.

I don’t have specific regulations, just regulations in general. I have first hand accounts of government grants being turned down due to the administrative work to comply with federal regulations was more expensive than the grant being offered.

Im not as worried about price increases due to deportations. Florida did something similar when they required the verify system to be used. They didn’t experience price increases from the law.

Trump seems to really believe what he says about tariffs. I like optimism but the tariffs thing is supremely idiotic which is self evident to anyone who has had and didn't fall asleep in their college basic-level economics class. Probably that's why a lot of his would be apologists are trying to say he might not actually do it. On the other hand, his track record is pretty strong in trying to do exactly what he has said repeatedly that he will do. I think it's more likely we get negative results on the economy than the other way.
