I'm reminded of a buddy of mine when we were in Iraq. The HMMWV (Humvee) he was driving was hit by an IED. Shrapnel came through the windshield and sent shards of glass into his face, but luckily missed seriously wounding him or killing him. By the time I got to see him and wish him well later that day, he was all cleaned up.
