Do you know what op Ed that was? I saw one in the WSJ but it was behind a paywall. The first paragraph was innocent enough.

For the record, I am pro criminal justice reform (i think violent crime, including gun crime, should be prosecuted aggressively though). I dont have a problem with Soros, an American citizen, spending money on causes he supports. I dont think he is some bogeyman hell bent on the destruction of America.

But I don't like language policing that intends to shut down criticism. A lot of these prosecutors are backed by money donated from Soros and align with his political goals. It's not antisemitic even if it is as lazy as "Koch funded."

I tend to agree with you. I think the vast majority of Soros criticism from the right is crazy conspiracy stuff. A lot of it isn’t anti semitic. Some of it is though.

Painting with a broad brush here. Are the musings of anonymous people on social media tantamount to Desantis or Rubio? Can you give me a specific instance where DeSantis said Soros was a Nazi sympathezer? Deaantis is bad in his own right, there is no need to pin stuff like this to him.

You're making the assumption that DeSantis isn't running to be the leader of a party increasingly extreme. He doesn't have to call him a Nazi for it to be a dog whistle, that's the point of a dog whistle.

There's really no other point to bring him up.

How weird that Trump can think he can 'get along great' with all these autocrats. Like Kim Jong-Un gives 2 shits about Trump or respects him at all. Nor is he a person with whom you ought to try to curry favor. He just has zero idea about America's foreign policy objectives or how to reach them.
