He says so many stupid things that it makes it easy for the press to dwell on the stupid statement. In the Kelly Ann interview she was talking about fine with the bad coverage, but how about spending time on some good things he is doing. Response was basically they have to cover the controversy and no time left for the other things he is doing..

Really!! 2 hours worth last night and at least 1 1/2 hours were with lawyers and their varying opinions. Heard the same thing over and over and over, with the Putin thing thrown in. They did spend some time showing Obama having a great time with the owner of Virgin.

Why so much time covering the appeal? Who doesn't know the 2 dem appoints were going to uphold the stay and the republican appointment was going to dissent. When it went to the 9th circuit you were already 50% on your way for the stay and when the judges were announced you were 90% there.

I actually listened to the proceedings. In a way it was humorous. The dem judges were basically asking about the dems talking points and the republican asking questions favorable to the republicans.

I did not listen to the oral argument, but judges often ask questions to have info for the other judges. You can't always read the lean of the judge solely on the questions. I've experienced judges who I thought were adverse actually be helpful. In this particular case, you may be correct.

We non-governmental lawyers aren't usually familiar with the limits of executive power, except as it affects bureaucracies. It is an interesting academic question.

You're right- sometimes the judges keep a good poker face. It could very easily turn 3-0 as well.

Also, I think Conway has enough on her plate defending the stupid things she volunteers without having to defend the things Trump tweets as well. This administration is killing it so far! :thumbsup:

I'd like to read the case law on the contours of the Executive Power on issues of national security. There must be limits but I don't know what the case law or possibly statutes say it is.

Totally assinine thing to say. He should have said something like, Bill it has been reported he is a killer. I am in hopes we can work together like FDR and Stalin did. Let's move on. I think he fears if he apologizes or backs off from previous statement they will beat him up for being inconsistent. I don't they are going to let him slide with the he evolves reasoning like they did for Obama.

He just needs to get a script, have someone edit it and stick to it.

This is just like some weird alternate universe we all spiraled into.

We've got Trump making comments similar to what Obama was saying going in to his first election. Essentially that the US is the big bully that has made mistakes and earned the hate of all of the countries that hate us.

Then we ended up with the Republicans all complaining about him getting cozy with the countries that hate us and offending those that are our allies.

I would never ask you to stop posting, '71. I just recalled the brouhaha when Obama made his 'exceptionalism' speech, and how it was evidence of his lack of patriotism. So I pulled it up. Is this what you mean when someone 'sounds like Obama'? What I would give for similar language from our president now. In this instance, wouldn't you take Obama's patriotism-lite over Trump's?

And yes, I took a pot shot about the liberal media. It was done in the hopes that one day even you can reconcile these two facts: the mainstream media will always lean 'left', and there isn't a general liberal media conspiracy.
