Gorsuch is a good pick, about as good as anyone could expect. I think he'll get through, which I think is good.

That said, my cynical side is telling me Trump is just throwing a bone to conservatives because he knew this was important to them. The reality I think is that Trump doesn't give a flying flip about the Supreme Court. Just wait until this conservative leaning court who cares about upholding the Constitution starts to push back on Trump's crazy and unconstitutional crap and we'll start seeing the temper tantrums and "betrayal" tweets, as if the Supreme Court is supposed to be bowing down to him. It's coming.

Time will tell. I was thinking hopefully his pick means he isn't listening to Banon as much as everyone is saying he is. The media was also saying really nice things about the pick. I think that will change though because the dems. have already started going after the guy hard.

I hope they stick to policy. This is probably policy but Pelosi said something to the effect if he gets in we will have bad water, women will be second class, women's rights taken away, big corporations will screw the little guy and we will have to gasp for air or something like that.

Yeah, Gorsuch will get through but I expect those dems to forget they all voted for him in 2006 and put up a good fight.

The whole #deleteuber thing is just another example of why these SJW-type boycotts are just dumb. So people will now start using Lyft, which just makes Carl Icahn (a big Trump supporter) more money.

I think most of my conservative friends are back to shopping at Target.

I appreciate the effort you have put in the last few days. If there were some serious leaders in the Libertarian party I might be persuaded. I think I would go Independent just because Trump won as a republican, but then the dem. leadership keeps talking and acting as idiotic as Trump so I guess I won't make the effort to change my registration yet.

I looked up the Judiciary committee on ping, I won't use google anymore and to my dismay Sanders and Warren are not on the committee. At least Franken is.

Also, for those a little surprised that Trump is trying to do things he said he would, it's about time to start taking him literally. That's the type of single minded, linear, black and white thinking he does.

I couldn't bring myself to vote for Trump, but the Supreme Court nominee weighed heavily in his favor for many conservatives who held their nose to vote for him. They got what they asked for as this seems to be a person who is very much of the Scalia mold.

He's going to bail on Gorsuch as soon as a future muslim ban is struck down or any other unconstitutional thing Trump tries to do. That's what I meant. I didn't mean to say Trump doesn't understand the political ramifications of why nominate one person over another. On the contrary -- it's all power and politics to him. He thinks he's appointing someone to be a rubber stamp for whatever he wants and he's going to throw a tantrum when that doesn't happen. The finer distinctions of what is Constitutional and correct legally isn't really Trump's thing, which it will be for a federal judge with a record like Gorsuch. A pick like this will surely come back to bite him, but yes, Trump very much understands he's pleasing the conservatives politically.
