No need to yell, I read it correctly the first time. 150,000 divided by 10,000 is 15. 50 divided by 15 is 3.3. Had 3 people of the 10,000 we currently have turned out to be terrorists you would be dead on with that '50' number. So, it's not really just my opinion, it's more just math. (Somebody tell me if my math is off.)

The illegal labor comes because there is a demand for it and there is no legal way for them to come in. Provide a legal avenue for it to eliminate the problems that come from having a black market for their labor. It's not that hard and it allows market forces to work. Right now current laws are about slamming the door shut to lower end immigrant labor and immigrant labor to certain countries especially just because the government knows better than the market does. That is government central planning in the labor market. Conservatives are supposed to be philosophically opposed to such a thing, but amazingly they think it's ok when it comes to immigration.

I am asking the question because I really don't know. If you want me to search google I will, but you may know. Since the undocumented comes hereo only because of the demand for labor. I assume no undocumenteds are getting government assistance.

I think there is a lot of research out there that shows they are much less likely to get govt. assistance than those who were born here because they don't want to get caught and be sent home. Obama was very aggressive at sending illegals home compared to previous administrations. This is also well documented despite what people like Trump say.

I will trust you are right. Those born here are American citizens and probably a lot more of them. That wasn't my question.

I think you said the only reason undocumenteds come here is because of the demand for labor. I would then assume very few get government assistance.

By way, I think those who are here and have no felony's have to be treated entirely different from those who are trying to get in. I don't believe in the theory that if you manage to get past the border patrol then you are home free.

Yes for those who have made it, no for those who try in the future.

I wonder about the trade off. Suppose we let in 150,000 immigrants from Syria. I don't think it would be wild to say maybe 50 of them are terrorists. Let's say they manage to kill 200 americans. I would think a true humantarian would say the saving or helping of 149,950 lives are worth the monetary costs and the lives of 200 Americans.

I don't have a problem with Israel's wall, although I have reservations about where portions of it are or will be located (not to mention it looks absolutely awful). But frankly, it's foolish to compare the Israeli/Palestinian issues which that wall tries to address with our own situation. I'm certainly not suggesting that we simply open our borders and let 150,000 people stream in, despite Trump's outrageous claim we've been letting millions of illegals flood across our border. It's VERY hard for refugees to get into the country, especially those who are most in need of asylum. We already have a very careful vetting process in place. To put an absolute ban, even temporarily, on those people is cruel, unnecessary, unAmerican, unChristian and appeals only to the lousier devils of our nature.

You are falling prey to the same trap Hillary fell for.

They are not kooky or angry, but somewhat practical given their lose-lose situation.

They are like Buffalo Bills fans, who year in and year out, know, despite their love for the team, that ultimately the team will mostly suck and do nothing. They show up, year in and year out.

Suddenly, a new General Manager shows up and promise to shake up the status quo. He says a lot of quirky things, but he shows energy and promises to make changes so that not only will the Bills make the playoffs, they are going to the Super Bowl. You don't believe it at first, because all the other team managers are laughing.

But he hires a new coach, starts making trades like crazy, and totally redesigns the team. Others are claiming foul, and he keeps saying weird things, but things are changing, so you hope, "maybe, just maybe...."

I think the hard care are more like Bills fans.
