Simple... encourage to refugees to take Trudeau up on his offer while they wait for the US to consider the application for immigration here. Of course, once they live in Canada with their "all you can eat" free health care and hockey why would they want to come to the United States?

I don't know. Each party is out to smear the character and reputation of the opposition. It actually gets depressing. I feel in a way for the nominee for the Surpeme Court. Right now he probably has a clean reputation and character. When they are done he will be a scumbag racist hater of women.

No longer is it really about the policy because it is easier to win by smearing someone.

An Iraqi (approved for his lawful permanent residency after serving U.S. armed forces as a translator for like 10 years) was held for 16 hours in cuffs, released only after a federal injunction was put in place. A 5-year-old Iranian boy was separated from his mom and held in detention for 5 hours. A 94-year old Yemeni woman in a wheel chair was held for hours on end until she was released. Delta sure is f*king up these days.

I didn't realize today was Fred Korematsu Day until google told me this morning. I wonder if the administration had the presence of mind to avoid signing the immigration executive order today, or if it was just dumb luck.

I'm going with any option that includes dumb, stupid, idiotic, incompetent, etc. it's clear that his closest advisors have no idea how to run a government.

You also forgot the fact that Obama's admin installed additional security measures that really slowed down the process, grinding it to a halt in some cases, because of a security lapse that allowed 2 Iraqis with former al queda ties into the country with refugee status. So he instituted a second and third fingerprinting process as a requirement to meet clearance. It wasn't a ban, it was a boost in security protocol that slowed things down.

Trump signed a unilateral blanket ban on all non-citizens coming into the country from the 7 listed states. Green card holders returning after a visit abroad were not allowed in. Mind you, those are people with permanent residency-- the right to live, work, pay taxes, grow old in the U.S. and go in and out of the country at their leisure were turned away by CBP. Scientists who were to conduct research and lecture at Harvard had their visas cancelled while their planes were in the air and were turned back at customs. A refugee family who had gone through the entire hellish location process, finally bound for their new home in Cleveland were removed their plane after being seated. Etc., etc., etc...

But yeah-- almost indistinguishable.

I never paid attention to Trump the businessman, but Trump the political executive is striking me as a typical bunker-mentality manager. When something goes wrong, these guys will bunker in with their inner circle. Deflect, blame, redirect, do anything but take responsibility for decisions and admit something needs to be fixed. They will continue redirecting, no matter how outrageous their claims, until forced to act otherwise and in this way they minimize what they have to give up. Effective managers can recognize that admitting a course correction is needed and taking responsibility for when things go differently than anticipated is not a sign of weakness and is really necessary in some cases. I know bunkering is the way politicians typically operate but Trump is one of the worst bunkerers I've ever seen. It's so bad I don't know how he made his fortune. Oh wait, he was a real estate developer in New York City? Ok then that all makes sense.

I would rather be held up in the airport in the US than have the Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama bomb the hell out of me in my own country. How many 5 year-olds did Obama kill? Liberalism is just something we whistle while fucking up other countries and take away people's rights.
