You guys seem incapable of nuance. Not all republicans are election deniers. Our nation is most healthy when we have two strong parties who are forced to compromise. My hope is that Trump continues to be neutered to the point that he loses his grip on the party and they ignore him. This is already starting to happen.Originally posted by Maximus View Post
God help us if democracy deniers don't get control of a branch of congress?
a house or senate controlled by gop will deny the election
What exactly was terrible from congress in last 2 years that you want people who dont accept the election running the house ?
If you don't see any danger in the democrats holding the WH and both the senate and the house, you are being naive."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

What specific dangers are you concerned about? Are they the same dangers as when the Republicans controlled the WH, the Senate, and the House?
EDIT to add: Can you name some significant legislative compromises that have occurred in the last 6 years?Last edited by LVAllen; 09-02-2022, 09:05 AM.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that it's the extreme that is in control of the GOP right now. When the non election deniers are afraid to say anything it's irrelevant what they really think. When Lindsay Graham says something about violence knowing damn well how the extremist types are going to take his words as a green light to violence if the DOJ follows through and indicts Trump, then that needs to be defeated. I get what you're saying and would agree with it if this were normal times.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

For starters, the infrastructure bill. 69 to 30 support in the senate after republicans demanded and obtained smaller budget numbers.Originally posted by LVAllen View PostEDIT to add: Can you name some significant legislative compromises that have occurred in the last 6 years?

Telling the truth about the election just got liz kicked out of leadership and lost the election for anyone else telling the truth
The deniers are in control
have you paid any attention to which side the new senate and house candidates are on? Various governor candidates already pledging to give EVs to the R regardless of the election outcomeLast edited by Maximus; 09-02-2022, 10:19 AM.

The reason Sarah ("I can see Russia from my kitchen window") Palin lost is that Alaskans still haven't forgiven her for running with that bastard warmonger McCain.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

What a horrible decision he made when he picked her. What might have been...

lol all the GOP gubernatorial primary candidates in AZ were election deniers. The biggest election denier endorsed by Trump ended up winning.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Yep. Just arizona. Not indicative of the GOP at large at all. Don't worry -- you're safe up there in *checks notes* Utah, home of Mike Lee.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
