He still has the GOP by its throat but at the same time he's a drag on it. And the more info comes out about the Mar a lago thing, the worse it sounds for him. As long as he's front and center the Repubs are in a not so great position going into the midterms. Some analysts are now even saying that not only do the dems hold and even increase in the Senate, but may even hold the house which was unthinkable just a few months ago. If the GOP at that point still can't cut Trump loose then they can forget being relevant for a long time. I wish a third party could take hold here but our system makes that nearly impossible.

I think the bigger danger right now is a major party that embraces authoritarianism and continues to support an insane would-be dictator. That party needs to go down in humiliating defeat to break them from Trumpism before I'd want them to have any real power. Even with both houses the dems can barely pass anything anyway.

I’m honestly thinking of having my college kids take out $10k in student loan debt to pay spring tuition and housing. If it doesn’t get forgiven in the next 3-5 years then I’ll just lay it off for them.

I have been telling my college kids to always take free government money if they can get it. If don't need the money then put it in a nice, safe investment so they have plenty of money to pay off the loan when it comes due. I am mad that I didn't get in on those PPP "loans".
