Hey, but Obama was worse!

I'm not a democrat. I don't have much in common politically with Barack Obama. But I don't know how any republican who is ok with Trump would be ok with Obama doing some of the same crazy things. I hate that our country has become so freaking polarized that we can have a president who is basically a child who needs to be minded by his advisers so he doesn't do anything dangerous, but it's ok because he's from the party you like better. Can anyone honestly say they'd be ok with a democrat acting the same way?

The anthem thing is maddening because it's such a non-issue and this asshole is purposely stirring the pot to galvanize his little base that cares about this. Why tf does the president need to weigh in on this kind of nonsense? Then he shows his true colors by advocating a forced salute or whatever.

National networks don't have licenses. Only local TV channels do. Of course Trump wouldn't know that.

But it's another example of Trump being hostile to the First Amendment. And no, Trump friends, no hyperbole here. Threatening to pull a broadcaster off the air because the government doesn't like its news is revolting for an American president to say.

But then, if I was the president of the United States and was about to announce to the world that maybe we should revoke their 'license,' I might have used one of the infinite tools at his disposal (at least Google) to check real quick.

The theory was that the airwaves were limited so they should belong to the public. So local channels were licensed. The networks were just a source of programming for them. No need to license those because it was the local channels who were actually occupying the public airwaves and who were supposed to be responsible for how they were used.
