  • If the Republicans wanted to exploit the death of CK then they are missing a golden opportunity by not taking the high road. There are a lot of left of center folks who do not feel represented by the current Democrat party. These folks are ripe for the picking. However, it would seem that some Republicans think revenge is the answer.

Two sides of the same coin.

Don’t listen or watch any of what you just stated. But keep your bullshit broad-brush comments of what you would like to label me into.

You can’t help yourself. I never respond to you unless you find some reason to engage because you don’t like whatever I say because it offends your sense of right. Newsflash, we don’t have to agree. Stop trying to think you do.

You have read MANY of my posts and my effort to see all sides. And empathize and support many causes that go entirely against this political-tripe you completely swing for.. So again, stop with your liberal-montgage of boiler-plate retort. Time for you to search and find the good in things. Better yet, recognize you don’t have to respond..

Don’t engage me.. I have no patience for your Neo-liberal, everything is evil in the world from the right.

That's a bit unfair to frank, Brock.

The common secondary definition of the term violence is "strength of emotion." An individual such as a spouse or child who is on the receiving end of verbal violence experiences trauma equal to a physical blow. The psychological Damage can be life-altering—it can stunt brain development and result in PTSD.

Verbal beatings hurt as much as sexual abuse

          "
As yet unpublished research by Teicher shows that, indeed, exposure to verbal abuse does affect certain areas of the brain. These areas are associated with changes in verbal IQ and symptoms of depression, dissociation, and anxiety."

          https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK223755/

"Dr. Teicher remarked that one of the most striking aspects of these ongoing studies is the impact of verbal abuse. Exposure to verbal aggression was quantified using a 15-item verbal abuse scale. Verbal Abuse Scores (VAS) greater than 40 were associated with elevated LSCL-33 and Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES) scores. The higher the VAS score, the higher were symptoms of depression, limbic irritability, and dissociation. This was found in subjects who had not experienced any other form of abuse, nor witnessed domestic violence."

Words can be an act of violence.

                • There are no words to state adequately how insanely wrong and inappropriate and unconstitutional it is for a government agency like the FCC to use its power to quash speech it doesn't like. It's freaking communist.

This is a message board. You can’t expect people not to engage you when you post something. And it’s unreasonable to ask.

I think you had great advice right before this. Probably advice we should all consider introspectively rather than projecting on others.

I agree in general about MAGA missing a golden opportunity, and that should not be surprising. Repubs voted for revenge. Trump himself said he was going to be MAGA's retribution, and in the wake of the killing, has not even tried to be bring unity to the country.

I cannot see how any left-of-center folks would find ever their way to MAGA.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                      • Ali Alexander, a guy who helped organize the coup attempt is saying as many as half a million antifa may need to be killed.

Everyone on here knows that is absurd, but not MAGA. Things will keep getting worse with that kind of rhetoric

I'm not saying they are exactly the same, nor am I saying two wrongs make a right, but it is interesting to see people get all worked up over this when they didn't bat an eye back in 2013 (or whenever the IRS scandal came to light).

                          • I've seen this articulated online. Jimmy Kimmel and the other late night hosts are all losing money for the networks. Most people are not tuning in to watch them; they'll catch clips online. So the smart move would be to let the network kill a show on the pretext of a host being offensive, saving some money and keeping in good graces with Trump. And Trump could even gloat about it, and MAGA world would clap and approve. Trump is still authoritarian/fascist-light but that's already well-known; most just ignore him now. But the rest of the administration couldn't help themselves. They had to publicly threaten a network and then gloat about it when it capitulated. They've amplified what is obviously a first amendment issue, likely alarming most independents. But they couldn't help themselves. They had to rub ABC's face in it.

I had to look up that definition. "a political approach that favors free-market capitalism, deregulation, and reduction in government spending". That...sounds a lot more like conservative people around here than Frank.
