It truly does help to view Trump's behavior as that of a child.

The courts may save him from destroying the economy through tariffs but not willingly. He really believes in them. He's going to try to push this to a Supreme Court ruling and will lose there. That wouldn't be so bad because we need more pushback fron the courts and Congress on the executive branch

Who knew there was a federal international trade court? And why didn’t I have it on my 2025 political bingo card?
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

I don't have a login on CB so can't see the political category. I'd be curious to see the reaction on this ruling.

Please, I beg you, let me destroy the economy!

In addition to filing an appeal with the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit overnight, the administration has asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to pause its own decision while the appeals process is underway.

"It is critical, for the country’s national security and the President’s conduct of ongoing, delicate diplomatic efforts, that the Court stay its judgment," administration attorneys wrote. "The harm to the conduct of foreign affairs from the relief ordered by the Court could not be greater."

It didn't. Not really. This is two separate actions combined. The Complaints were filed 4/14 and 4/23. So, having a Summary Judgment motion decided a month later is moving pretty quickly.

The courts can issue an emergency injunction. It seems like people could ask the courts for this sooner than they have with his nonsense.

Chinese students say they’re questioning their decision to study in the U.S. after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the federal government will attempt to “aggressively” revoke their visas.

Chinese students who spoke to NBC News on Thursday said they came to the U.S. for freedoms that they felt they did not have back in China, but now say that the Trump administration is starting to resemble the strict regime they left behind.

“USA stands for freedom. It stands for democracy. … That’s why we come here to chase our dreams,” said one Chinese Ph.D. student at a New Jersey university, who requested anonymity out of fear of retaliation. “In China, the government can control education, high schools, colleges, universities. We thought that the USA could be different.”

How freaking embarrassing. I hate everything about our executive branch right now.

They want to get rid of everyone with "ties" to the Communist Party. They could frame that as all Chinese students. Rubio is a sellout.

We should give France the Statue of Liberty back.

In addition to tutoring Chinese immigrants here, I've dozens of conversations with other Chinese, here and in China over the past year. I'm certain that most Chinese have no interest in furthering the aims of the CCP and truly cherish the freedoms and education the U.S. provides. Trump and Rubio, who has become Trump's service animal, are doing a lot of damage with this stupid policy, but hopefully Trump's TACO approach will apply here.

They asked for one. The court said no, because they couldn't show an immediate harm that would occur before the court could consider the motion for summary judgment. Makes sense, considering the payment system for the tariffs was glitched to hell and gone.
