Trump's Tarriff war may be the biggest own goal in modern American politics. Even with his disgusting treatment of Ukraine, he probably could have maintained support if he had just resisted the urge to drop a nuclear bomb on the global economy. Peter Navarro may be the stupidest advisor in presidential history. I mean Donald Trump is stupid but we all knew that. I just hope that the AOC/Bernie wing of the Democratic party isn't elevated among the base in response to MAGA, like the reactionary GOP base was with Trump. But the silver lining on the bitter pill (I love me some mixed metaphors) of Trump's economic shenanigans is that it's not too far off of what Bernie has advocated for.
