That is the 64 dollar question. If it can be answered, Trump might more than a one term president. If he cannot, he will probably only serve one term. Most of the other rhetoric will be ignored or forgotten. Many voters do not hang on every word, splicing statement like lawyers to tear apart his arguments.Originally posted by fusnik View PostWhat types of jobs can he deliver to the rust belt?"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Is it? I'm too much of a dumb white person to even know what you mean by that.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostYour Freudian slip is showing...
Although, to be clear, even though I am dumb and white, I did NOT vote for Trump, who I find unacceptable. But I grew up with poor white people. I grew up with copper miners and farmers and other blue collar workers. I was the first person in my family to go to college and one of the few to graduate from high school without needing a GED. I know these people and they are not well-educated in a traditional sense, but they are not stupid. They have values and those values matter to them. They act on conscience and they most often do the right thing. I resent that so many here and in the press are today claiming Trump is elected because these people are pure bigots and idiots. They are not. They are good people and they ARE America and they have spoken. I have no doubt that most of them voted as they did in spite of Trump and his failings as opposed to becasue of him. We should not impute his characteristics to the voters who support him. They are only hoping for something better, not endorsing him as a person, at least not anymore than they endorsed any of the other very flawed persons that have been elected to public offices over the years.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

So your counter evidence is personal anecdotes? Ha.Originally posted by Shaka View PostWell then why don't you prove us wrong or STFU?
I know many people from all the demographics I listed who voted for The Donald. All of them are asshats (like you and me) but not all are stupid."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

We should do something about peoople who aren't educated. How about they get counted as 6/10ths of the vote of the educated folks.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostOh come on. Every one of those groups are the ones who supported Clinton by significant margins. I know we're understandably leery to interpret the data, but this is clear. He ran the table with adults lacking postsecondary education, and Clinton didn't win enough in the blue precincts to offset that margin.

Me too. When I hear these posters go off on Trump voters as stupid, racist, uneducated and think of the people I know who voted for Trump I laugh. I used to take it personally as an attack on some of my friends and family. Not any more I just think of them all together and them saying that to them and just start laughing.Originally posted by Shaka View PostWell then why don't you prove us wrong or STFU?

Guys, all this bickering is not going to help President Trump unify our great country.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I believe there are exit polls that indicate that college educated white women voted for Trump at a higher rate than the pre-election polls indicated.
The exit polls also suggest that Trump did better with Hispanics than Romney did. Of course, that's a percentage and is likely offset by higher Hispanic turnout. Black turnout was down quite a bit and as a percentage twice as many blacks voted for Trump than voted for Romney.
Perhaps there will be a push for Cory Booker in four years.
It seems like there should be a bigger chance than usual of the incumbent in 2020 getting beaten than in other elections.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
