Historically, Phillips and Taylor found variables such as employment and income are better indicators of an election result than market-based forces such as equity or oil prices. The performance of the economy in the second quarter of the election year is often a strong guide to the result, they said.
Honestly, all the Dems have to do is nominate someone - ANYONE - who seems just a little moderate and not crazy, and they are in. But somehow I just can't see them not tripping themselves up and messing this up somehow.Comment

He does say you shouldn't earn too much money, and that if you earn more you should be willing to give a greater share of it to the government for redistribution. Given the electoral system we have, it's not that hard to figure out that it probably depends on about three states right now, which are the same ones that mattered last time. In PA, Trump's numbers are not good. He also trails in WI and is neck and neck with most of the possible Dem candidates in MI. He needs all three if the dems can hold onto the same states they got last time. There is a lot of time left, but I wouldn't say either side has it in the bag right now and both sides have time to screw it up.
