There were maybe 200 people total at Parliment Square. I took a bunch of pictures I'll post later, but it was pretty disappointing.
They are probably fatigued by it all.

    • Massive protests in the UK today. The hashtag #EnoughIsEnough is trending on Twitter. People want an election.

        Didn't they just have one?

2019. The next scheduled one is 2025, but the Prime Minister can request that the Monarch dismiss Parliament and hold an election. The people want the PM to do that because they don't believe that the party in power would have the votes to stay in power. Historically, there has usually been an election right after a monarch's death; it's just been a while since that didn't involve QE2.

          • A sign in the crowd: I imagine this is felt the world over, but proximity to Russian gas dependency probably fuels it a little more than elsewhere (pun intended).

interesting. I figured they had recently had one since they just changed prime minister.

That’s part of the issue, I believe. Three PMs, one election.

His original message vs the one that people are circulating:

                    • Yeah, this government is going to last very long. What's the over/under on months before another round of elections?

It probably won't be long now. I think the Truss' government is in a death spiral.

Apparently, most people want Boris Johnson back.

That would be an interesting twist. The Conservatives as getting less popular. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Labour Party take over soon.

                            • And just like that, she's done. At 119 days, Truss is the shortest serving prime minister of the UK. The Labour Party is calling for general elections. We'll see if the Conservative Party has anyone who has the ability to unite Parliament without a general election. This will be interesting to watch.
