Okay, then please point out the mass shootings that were carried out by mentally stable people and in which areas where guns are allowed.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostYes, that is exactly what I'm saying..."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Here in CA with our awesome gun laws, the Judge is considered a short barreled shotgun and illegal. However, it doesn't fit the definition of a shotgun because it doesn't have a smooth bore. So California has designated it as a "destructive device". Other destructive devices include bullets greater than .60 caliber, grenades, etc... It is dumb. There is a loophole where if you can get a NFA dealer (NFA is the national firearms act which banned machine guns and created what is now known as "assault weapons") here who can import one into CA that has a foregrip installed, you can register it with the ATF as a "any other weapon" as long as your sheriff signs the paperwork or you create a "NFA Trust". However, it is a long and drawn out process and a royal pain in the ass. An "any other weapon is a weapon that does not fit in the atf's definition of firearm or assault weapon.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostHuh? Destructive device? That is how my dad ended up with that gun. My uncle who lives in California bought it in another state. He found out it was illegal in California and sold it to my dad.Originally posted by Drunk Tank View PostHere in CA with our awesome gun laws, the Judge is considered a short barreled shotgun and illegal. Good grief. A .410 shotgun shell is going to be way less dangerous than a .45 caliber bullet.Originally posted by Drunk Tank View PostHere in CA with our awesome gun laws, the Judge is considered a short barreled shotgun and illegal. yesOriginally posted by wuapinmon View PostEven in close quarters?
edit: i guess it depends on what .410 you're shooting. a .410 slug might change things. either one is going to mess your day up:

The 2nd Amendment is very loosely worded. I could see a lopsided Supreme Court drastically narrowing what the 2nd Amendment means, essentially gutting the right to bear arms. America today would never stand for that, but in a generation or two, who knows? Never say never.Originally posted by Moliere View PostIt will require a repeal of the 2nd amendment.

Nah. Instead, let's discuss the buffoonery of Huckabee insinuating that if we do away with gun-free zones shootings will magically decrease.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostOkay, then please point out the mass shootings that were carried out by mentally stable people and in which areas where guns are allowed."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Should be easy to do, right?Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostGood grief, I am sick of the idiots who think changing background checks or adding fingerprint locks to guns is the key to stopping mass shooting. No, the only thing that would stop them is repealing the second amendment and confiscating hundreds of millions of guns. Think Clive Bundy standoff X 1,000,000. If you want to push for that, fine. But let's at least have an honest discussion.
