Well, the problem for sure isn't hard working middle class and rich people. Without them there would be no health care for those who can't live on a budget.

You always have your usual suspects, McCain, Grahm and Rand Paul.

While the democrats pretty much stick together even if they don't believe what they are throwing out there. Schumer hasn't been a far lefty until now. At least Pelosi has stayed a consistent nit wit.

I am guessing that McCain, Grahm and Paul are holding out until Drumpf promises the american people: "If you like your iPhone then you can keep it!"

There is another negative stereotype. Poor people are poor because they can't live on a budget. And they should be grateful to rich folks like byu71 for supporting them. Ugh...

There are many reasons there are poor people. Some are real down on their luck or circumstances and need help. However, if you don't think there are some out there gaming the system then you are more of a leftie than I thought.

I have known people and I would guess you have too who make the same income. One family does fine and the other one is broke. If you don't recognize this happens you are living in la la land.

I don't think it is disingenuous for folks who pay for the welfare of others to question whether those funds are being used appropriately. There are many many folks who don't have health insurance who could afford it but choose to spend their money on other items that are nice to haves. Paying for their insurance is essentially a subsidy for their nice to haves.

I never said there aren't any lazy people. You are the one making broad generalizations, not me.

Really, I can't find in my first post that you responded to where I even mentioned the word poor. I said the middle class and the rich aren't the problem. You are the one who then makes the broad generalization that I meant all the poor. Perhaps you might inquire as to what someone means before judging.

Do you disagree the costs of health care in general is not a problem for the middle class or rich. Do the poor in general benefit from those that pay taxes and give generously to charities that help the poor?

Dumb comment. That iphone quip didn't work when Obama used it and it won't now.

Sounds like Ben Carson's talk yesterday. The mind is powerful. Black people immigrated to America with dreams chained to the bottom of slave ships. If people exercised more mental will power, they wouldn't need government assistance any more.

Ha. You weren't denigrating the poor, you were just standing up for the middle class and the rich, even though nobody here claimed they were the problem. Sure...

The older I get, the more convinced I am that the main difference between the haves and the have-nots is circumstance (where you are born, your parents' financial status, your race, your opportunity for education, etc). Yes, there are some lazy poor people. I know some wealthy people who are every bit as lazy, but were born into money. And yes, you can use hard work and grit to overcome your circumstances, but sometimes you can't. And some people are born into such a deep hole that they have to work 10x harder than most of us, just to make ends meet, let alone get ahead. And some people have zero good examples in their life. I have a great life, and as much as I want to pat myself on the back, I recognize that it is largely dumb luck.

kind of a harsh way to talk about Trump voters in the south. Playing the stereotype game is easy to do.

Are you saying I am playing the stereotype game? I would hate to not interpret your post correctly.
