Some SEC fan bases have the weird habit of going to games dressed like they're going to church.

The secret service guys were mocking him because he wasn't hired, but I think his initial decision to apply seems like the more mockworthy fact.
No. I have a friend who worked at an LE agency here in Utah for a few years and now works for the Secret Service.

Edit: One of the guys I went to Iraq with got hired on to work in the White House as an EOD specialist. And this guy was nuts.

I haven't seen a lot of women at church wearing the kinds of dresses I see the SEC sorority girls wearing.

                  Per the paper of record:

They are moves long honed by Mr. Chaffetz, a former high school soccer player who became a place-kicker on a lark and then practiced and exercised his way to Brigham Young University’s powerhouse football team.

I got a Chaffetz flyer when I lived in Provo and he was running. I was offended b/c his platform seemed to indict his prospective constituents as total pieces of shit.

Kevin McCarthy drops out and shocks everyone. So Chaffetz had a leg up, right?

                        Wrong.

Everyone knows how bad of an idea that is so everyone is leaning on Paul Ryan, but he doesn't want the job.

Boner threatens to stay on as speaker unless Ryan reconsiders, which apparently he's now doing.

There's also been a draft Gowdy push, but the rumor is he's leaving Congress to run for governor of South Carolina in 2018. Why would he want to be speaker and be accused of being squishy after he inevitably would have to compromise with Obama?
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

The system doesn't look that great right now.

                            Gowdy

                            Ryan is a decent choice.

Trey Gowdy has always impressed me. I like him. I love Paul Ryan. They would both be terrific, imo. But I've always liked Boehner and was super disappointed when he stepped down so there's that.

I agree with what you have said. I have watched the House over the past few years and feel like the far right is getting way to much clout for their actual numbers. I hear it is about 40 of them. What's that about 20%? Of course they get all the noise that comes from the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh and Beck.

I think very capable people like Ryan and Gowdy probably just don't want to be Speaker and deal with the pain in butt the far right are. I will always have ill will to the far right for us having currently President Obama instead of President Romney.
