Yeah, I agree she showed bad judgment. Sounds like it wasn't up very long. But anyone extrapolating this to Alito believing the election was stolen, etc is crazy.

These are SC justices. The honor to hold that position for life should come with the expectation that they and their spouses behave above reproach.

Hey now, I didn't say anything about forcing anyone to do anything. But we shouldn't just toss a justice's spouses words and actions out as nothing, especially if that justice is considered perhaps the biggest Trump supporter on the Court.

The whole thing is a laughably ridiculous overreaction. He is not going to be recused from anything.

Minor quibble, but of course he's not going to "be recused". There should be a culture and a practice at SCOTUS to be avoid the appearance of impropriety, for the sake of public confidence in the institution. The Court should really be thinking more about its public image in a time like this, and recusal in the right situation would go a long way to restoring some of that lost respect.
