AP reports they got it from a "government official"...Originally posted by SeattleUte View Post
It's not leaking radiation. Did you get that from Fox News?
A government official tells The Associated Press that elevated levels of radiation are being detected near the site of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, which is on fire after being hit by Russian shelling.
Is the AP part of Fox News now?Last edited by Uncle Ted; 03-04-2022, 09:39 AM."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I watched The Courier last night with Benedict Cumberbatch. I’m a sucker for soy films and “based on a true story” movies. We knew about the invasion months in advance. There’s gotta be a way to use these assets to take this psychopath out.

It seems that most of the nuclear plant is shut down (with only one reactor up at 60%) so they most likely initiated an emergency shutdown that may have released some radioactive steam in the process. That may account for the elevated radiation levels. We will know for sure if see one of the reactors melt into the earth.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

I read this yesterday about an independent newspaper in Moscow that is still printing:

It's a dangerous job; seven of their journalists have been murdered in the last two decades.

Last night was a fun night on twitter. Who would've thought so many people were nuclear power plant experts. Nice to see it spill over a bit on this site.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

TBH, the isolationism that is happening is a bit frightening. Russia has always controlled the media and the media they didn't ban has always been monitored. But an outright banning of a social media platform like Facebook shows how far they are willing to go. I can't imagine the Russians will take this kindly, but of course they'll be fed a bunch of lies about why it's happening.
It's crazy how fast we've gone from seemingly open trade with Russia to Cold War 2.0...it's literally been a couple weeks."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I have my doubts that just firing missiles at a nuclear power plant will automatically cause a catastrophe. I have a close friend that worked at the reactor in Idaho - the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory- and now at the one in Los Alamos, NM. I guess there are risks for contamination and leaks, but it would be more like Fukushima than Chernobyl..."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! That entire thread is pretty heartening. I'll discount it, but I don't think it's way off base. Thus is my prayer.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Yes, it is heartening, and what we are seeing confirms a lot of it. All that broken-down euipment being towed off by John Deere tractors, that stalled 40-mile long convoy, and the inability of the Russians to establish air superiority are striking evidence of something very, very, very wrong with Russian military capability. And taking full control of the media back in Moscow?!?!? What the hell? Things are very bad. Are they close to a tipping point? Maybe not, but getting closer.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

There's got to be more to the story here. They have more assets at their disposal. I wonder what's going on.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post
