Our EQ instructor today served a mission in Ukraine 5-6 years ago. He and his wife traveled all over the country in their role, meeting with local church leaders.

He has been in contact with some friends he made there. One was their driver for a while. This man said they spent last night in a shelter, and today he tried to join the army. But the line to join was too long, so he’ll return tomorrow. He saw men of all ages in line, from 17 to 70. He spoke of Ukrainian pride and patriotism, and no doubt that they would win this fight.

We didn't like it when the USSR was putting missiles in our backyard (Cuba). Why do you think Russia would like a NATO expansion?

Seems like a simple compromise rather than seeing lots of people die especially if nukes start flying. What would be more appeasing to Putin is we just let him merge the Ukraine into Russia. Give a little, take a little. Or do you think that NATO should just carpet bomb Russia until Putin is dead or out of power?

So, in your world NATO is the aggressive bully and Putin is the vulnerable victim? Should I assume you want the right to bear arms so you can defend yourself, or should I assume you want the right to arm yourself so you can kill my family? Do you honestly not understand the purpose of NATO?

NATO is more important than ever. Hell, even Sweden is taking sides now (sending military supplies to Ukraine). Let's not forget that Pres. Bone Spurs wanted to get the USA out of NATO.

Agreed. Just giving Putin what he wants right now would be more likely to invoke more war, not less. Next year he identifies another country, then another.
