BTW, of the two of us, which has been more impoverished during their lifetime and which had the most advantages? I'm curious because you sure seem to take the side of the poor and disadvantaged but iirc, you are quite well off and always have been.
The presence of police does not mean they are there to serve the community, or that the community is getting its money's worth.

They pay attention to poor people who band together and raise enough hell to get the attention of the media gatekeepers.
Perhaps you could point out a couple of the tax shelters that are out there. I know some people that could use some.

Yeah, you and the turkey who wrote that column do. The title of his recent book: "Bullish on Bush: How the Ownership Society Is Making America Richer."

              C'est pas vrai!?!

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Remember that movie he made where it was funny because it seemed like he was having sex with his daughter! That was a riot, or really awful I can't remember.

                      • Gerard Depardieu was only good in one movie, Le retour de Martin Guerre. And that was a long time ago.

I feel so uncultured. I wouldn't know Gerard Daperdieu even if we were sharing the same urinal.

Edit: Sorry Katy, I forgot my manners.

Les Visiteurs was funny. At least I think it was. It was a long time ago.

Now Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob or The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob, that is a funny movie. One of my favorites.

I looked, Belgium has one of the highest in the world. So I guess the take away is that if you tax people too much they will move right next door to another culturally similar country that has very, very high taxes rates as well though slightly lower than yours. What are the options for wealthy Americans that want to move? Looks like Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and Mexico are all lower personal income tax locals one could consider.
