Hey you uppity northerner....you have under delivered the farmers 60-80% of the water they have already paid for for the last 3 years.

Remember that when you can't find your baby carrots anymore!

I don't begrudge water-thrifty farmers their just due, but what about residents? Why aren't all residential users on mandatory cutbacks? Oh, and you can have an exception for awesome BBQ food prep.

      • In some cities, including San Francisco, officials worry about the prohibition on washing streets and sidewalks. Public Works Department spokeswoman Rachel Gordon said that could interfere with the frequent cleaning of alleys to wash away human waste where there are high concentrations of homeless people.

During the past 12 months, she said the city responded to about 8,000 calls to steam clean streets of such waste.
I'm not sure if I should be surprised it's that high or that it's that low.

I am in agreement. I cut the watering times at the house by 25%. I also cut one of watering cycles.

It was a bad time to drop a boatload of money to put a lawn down in the back yard.

So has California repealed the 2012 rainwater recapture act yet? If not, it is time to get those rain barrels installed before it does get repealed so you are grandfathered.

                • I am sorry to hear about the drought situation in California. I know a lot of very good people in California and I hate to see all the fires, drought and democrats in such a beautiful place.

I look forward to the drought ending for Californians and the economy getting better. If that happens, I also think the state will be easier to sell to Mexico.

I look at PAC as an otherwise intelligent friend with two loyalties that defy all logic. So you one up him there.

                        • As I pass by on my bike the huge irrigation circles that water our grain and potatoes and I see the giant sprinkler heads on the end putting thousands of gallons of water on the road I feel bad for those in California suffering from the drought and thinking they could use this water but that quickly passes as the water pours over me and I get some fast relief from the heat.

Given that California's GDP is greater than Mexico's (and all but maybe ten other nations') we'll be doing the buying, thank you. Right after we fund a boatload of pensions.

I hate to admit this, but perhaps I don't understand GDP. Based on what you said I think it must be output, not necessarily profit.

It is like the guy that asked the widget manufacturer how he made money selling them for $2 when they cost $3 to make. The answer was, "we make up for that by selling huge volumes of them".
